Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

Running since 7th grade (10 yrs)

weekly mileage range is between 15-30.  Usually, not below 20 though.

Ran first race in July 2005 - San Francisco Half-Marathon (1st half)...2:03:16 -rolling hills take time

2nd race Feb2007- Surf City Marathon (Huntington Beach, Ca) : DNF

   -training to break 4hrs.

-got injured (patella) during training (7mi speed work out on a track), but decided to take it easy, continue training, and run the marathon just to do it w/a revised time goal of 5 hrs.

-pouring rain storm! knee started to give out at mile 18 currently on track for a 4:15 finish), pushed through to 20...and dropped out there because of hypothermia and the knee that couldn't run anymore.  decided it was better to quit than worsen the injury.

Short-Term Running Goals:

from now to 2010:

-finish first marathon (4hrs or better)

-increase weekly mileage to 40

-rehabilitate knee

-qualify for Boston

Long-Term Running Goals:

Its really simple: I'd like to run for as long as I physically can in my lifetime.  (while doing that, why not run a few dozen marathons?)

Personal:

Born in 1985. Became addicted to running at the age of 12.

Graduated from UC Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering in 2007.  Living in Berkeley got me hooked on trail running and hills, met the love of my life and favorite running partner there.  It made moving back to southern california a bummer due to the absence of trees and the nice cool weather.  Currently work for Toyota in Gardena,Ca (basically LA) as a Powertrain calibration engineer for OBD (on board diagnostics).

Trained vocalist for almost a decade in pop/r&b, musical theater, jazz, and opera.

Favorite running conditions: partly cloudy, 35-55deg F, slight breeze.

back in Ca...

weather was 80deg

I thought i was going to die.

took very generous water stops...

i was running at about 10-11 min pace, but since my watch was running during water breaks and such, my total time was 3:10 with an avg. hr of 162bpm.

3 miles again with a couple of running friends in Ann Arbor

 really easy 10- 11 min

then i separated for a 4 mile tempo at 7:55-8:10 pace

I paced myself via HR, but since the weather is so much cooler than Ca, i was a lot faster than i thought.

great weather 50-55 no sun this time though
